No job is too tough and no weather too harsh for the five new models in the ATLAS MAX Series. And not just because of the highly robust XR-MPU® sole technology. The brand new ATLAS upper material ProTraX® meets the toughest working and weather conditions with maximum power, minimum moisture absorption and lightning-fast drying. And all this with twice the breathability of conventional leather.
"We have developed a completely new shoe series because the new ProTraX® deserves that all components in the shoe ideally complement the new quality material. Our goal: to develop the perfect shoe for extreme conditions," explains Hendrik Schabsky, CEO of ATLAS. The long-established company from Dortmund, which is one of Europe's largest safety shoe manufacturers, is known for not only producing its own materials for its self-made uppers. It also combines them with the shoe soles itself. ATLAS develops the formulas for its sole materials in-house. The in-house MPU® (multifunctional polyurethane) is modified for each shoe - depending on which requirements the model has to fulfil. This is also the case for the new MAX Series.
MAXimum performance with new ProTraX® upper material
No comparison to leather, but an evolution in material technology: this is the new ProTraX® upper material from ATLAS. It combines professional quality, the best comfort on every track and all components for extreme work requirements. Almost half the weight of leather, hard-wearing and unbeatably easy to clean, it is the right choice of material for construction sites, road construction and civil engineering, forestry and agriculture, industry or even logistics and harbour work.
MAXimum climate comfort - twice as breathable
Thanks to its micro-perforated structure and innovative material mix, ProTraX® can release moisture from the inside to the outside particularly quickly, while at the same time preventing moisture from penetrating. This creates permanent air circulation throughout the shoe, which actively regulates the foot climate and effectively prevents heat build-up.
Compared to conventional leather, ProTraX® is twice as breathable - a decisive advantage for long periods of wear and physically demanding activities. Even under heavy strain or at high ambient temperatures, the interior climate remains constantly comfortable.
MAXimum water resistance, minimum drying time
A material that not only keeps up - but leads the way. ProTraX® defies any wetness thanks to its low water absorption and retains its shape. Another striking feature is its rapid re-drying, even after use in extremely wet conditions. The high water resistance also reduces heat loss: the foot remains pleasantly dry for maximum comfort.
MAXimum safety with XR-MPU® sole technology
All MAX Series models are equipped with the new XR-MPU® sole technology. The system made from our own MPU® is characterised by numerous flex grooves for perfect grip. Dynamic Plates arranged in the forefoot transfer forward energy, while the remaining energy is channelled to the point of impact. In the heel area, the Cloudzone absorbs impact forces and shocks with a high-performance system. In addition, 20% of the outsole is made from recycled solids, which saves a fifth of primary materials.
MAXimum robustness, minimum weight
The MAX Series has all the necessary S3 components for use in extreme conditions: The XP® metal-free penetration resistance is guaranteed by a high-tech textile material made from aramid fibres in the midsole. The cushioning MPU® Rebound System optimally harmonises the outsole and midsole for fatigue-free running. The abrasion-resistant MPU® overcap protects the toe area. Thanks to the low weight of the ProTraX® upper material, which absorbs hardly any moisture even in standing water, and thanks to the lightweight upper construction, the shoe remains as light as possible at all times and in every season.
MAXimum cleaning, minimum effort
The sealed ProTraX® surface simplifies cleaning enormously: the new ATLAS material requires no special care products and can be cleaned quickly with minimal physical effort. This means that the MAX Series always makes a professional appearance possible - so that as much time as possible can be spent on the actual work, while only minimal care is required.
MAXimum choice with lacing system or BOA® Fit
In addition to the choice between ankle-high boots or low shoes, wearers can choose between a classic lacing system and an innovative rope pull system within the MAX Series. The BOA® Fit system consists of a micro-adjustable twist lock, durable lightweight cables and low-friction guides. It enables precise, fast and customised adjustment with just one hand, even when wearing gloves. In the MAX Series, the BOA Fit System is installed on the side to avoid pressure points on the back of the foot.
MAXimal modern design
You can also rely on the design of the MAX Series: both the ankle-high boots and the low shoes impress with their classic, elegant look. The ProTraX® upper material has a high-quality look - not only because of its leather-like structure, but also because of its dirt-resistant material properties. Stylish, optionally colour-contrasting indentations on the sides look like optical reinforcing ribs and emphasise the robust construction. The design is rounded off by the iconic ATLAS logo and the stamped quality promise in the heel area - a statement for maximum performance.
