ATLAS donates 773 pairs for workshop participants in the Unna district

Sure-footed: pallets of work shoes for vocational training

A sure-footed path to an apprenticeship and a new job: ATLAS has donated over 700 pairs of safety shoes for participants in the training programmes at the Werkstatt im Kreis Unna and its subsidiary Umwelt-Werkstatt. The 773 pairs will be used in all training and employment measures where sturdy soles and a protective toe cap are important, explained Kay Sprenger, authorised signatory of the workshop: "We are delighted that we can now provide the participants with such high-quality, modern equipment. Not only in landscaping and horticulture, but especially in warehousing and logistics areas or in metal and wood workshops, special footwear is of great importance - also to prevent injuries."

Occupational health and safety is a top priority in the "Werkstatt" workshops. The donation, worth around 30,000 euros, will help to ensure that people are provided with particularly high-quality equipment. All adults and young people who are looking to start an apprenticeship or career at the workshop or who are looking for a way out of unemployment can benefit from this. Hendrik Schabsky, CEO of ATLAS, said at the presentation of the major donation: The company, which has been manufacturing safety shoes in Dortmund for over 110 years, is happy to support the programmes offered by the workshop. People with disadvantages and disabilities in particular should have prospects on the labour market. "People need prospects - and we urgently need skilled labour in all areas," says Hendrik Schabsky. Safe and modern equipment is essential for this.
